I look at my last post and realize how long it has been. Long enough to relocate me to Yankton, South Dakota.
Fund raising is my game. Funds for community improvements through economic development, a library building addition, a community center... projects for community health.
It's fulfilling work. For Yankton, it's a program for economic development to retain existing industry and attract more.
Traveling long term and living a "temporary" lifestyle Monday through Friday, while doing the weekend warrior dance at home engenders material for some pretty good stories.
Today I applied for a public library card in Yankton. I was told I am a transient. That sounds almost threatening, as if I might commit a murder before I left town. I suggested they call it a "hobo card." Maybe not, hobo connotes vagrancy. Maybe a "temporary citizen card?"
I got the card and they have the books with on the internet access to their library and reservations. Amazing how the internet connects.
